He was predeceased by: his father Jack Donald Carpenter; and his brother Bobby Carroll Carpenter. He is survived by: his mother Frances Pauline "Polly" Campbell Carpenter; his wife Linda; his daughters, Paula "Dawn" Carpenter Benfield (Mark Josey) and Tammy "Annette" Carpenter Weaver (Chad Eckard); his grandchildren, Samantha Bingman (James), Celeste Benfield Sharpe (Chase), Dylan Weaver (Brianna Deel) and Alyssa Weaver; his great grandchildren, Lydia Faith Bingman and Lily Ann Weaver; and his brother Jack "Terry" Terrell Carpenter (Terri).
