We are sad to announce that on December 15, 2024, at the age of 70, Opal Mae Stumbo Knight of Statesville, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard Stumbo and Opal Beaunice Raines Stumbo; her husband Jay Cornelius Knight Jr.; her stepdaughter Kendra Knight; and her sister Barbara Stumbo of Winston Salem.
She is survived by: her son Rodney Hall (Tara) of Statesville; her stepdaughter Kristy Knight-Cagle (Chuck) of Winston Salem; her brother Johnnie Stumbo of Statesville; her stepgrandchildren, Lindsay and Aaron; her niece Cassandra Stumbo; and her great-niece Jaila Stumbo.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapman Funeral Home (158 Stony Point School Rd, Stony Point, NC 28678). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN, 38105) and the American Cancer Society (PO Box 6704, Hagerstown MD 21741).
