She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Cecil Alexander and Dorothy Francis Conn Alexander; her former husband Velmar Bailey; her siblings, Fredrick "Tommy" Alexander and Lenore Alexander; her great grandchild Mackenzie Grace; her cousin Charles Turner; and her siblings-in-law, Pamela Bailey Martin, Sylvia Jean Bailey, Montie Bailey, Tony Bailey, Randy Bailey and Rufus Wilborn.
She is survived by: her children, Marvel Anthony Bailey (Andrea), Tỷana "Shelly" Bailey-Hancock (Kim) and Keith Wilborn (Damarie); her grandchildren, Desare Bailey Smith (Dee), David Alexander Taylor, Morgan Bailey, Zarí Adia Hancock, Brianna Yates and LinQuentin Johnson; her great grandchildren, Ryeleigh, Mitchell, Ethan, Evelyn, Kingston, Quincy and Ava; her siblings-in-law, Laverne Bailey and Gary Bailey (LaRosa); her cousins, Wanda Smith, Alfred Diggs, Serapher Conn Halevi, Belle Conn Martin, Brenda Matthews, Debra Conn Clarke, Asher Conn and Freddy Conn; and her close friends, Cheryl Brimmer, Valerie Hightower (Eric), Ken Smith, Vikki Sanders, Brenda Gail Millsaps, Susan Martin, Sarah Dodd, Celia Gentry, Mattie McClintock and Patricia Rone. She is also survived by loving nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt Pleasant AME Zion Church (537 S Center St, Statesville, NC 28677). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
