She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Karr Houston and Minnie Naomi Duke Houston; her husband John W. Gibson; and her siblings, Marie Tevepaugh, Katherine Honeycutt, Peggy Williams and Grover Lee Houston.

She is survived by: her sister Allie Eller (Coyte); and also Francisco Vega. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
