He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph L. Bentley and Mabel Bentley; his sons, Richard Bentley and Mark Bentley; and his siblings, Susan Meade, Marie Williams McMahon and Charles Bentley.
He is survived by: his children, Julie Conner, Lucinda Robinson (Albert), Jeffery Bentley and Luther Bentley, Jr.; his grandchildren, Brandon Conner (Taylor), Eric Conner, Richard Robinson (Sharon), Michelle Townsend (Joshua) and Heather Buff (Dustin); his great grandchildren, Warren and William Townsend; his siblings, Hayden Bentley, Linda Bradshaw and Ruby Carter; and his wife Shaleigh.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Catawba Funeral Home (3060 US Hwy 70 SE, Hickory, NC 28602). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association in Luther's name.
