It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Mae Rucker of Statesville, North Carolina, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Garfield Rucker and Cornelia Scott Rucker; her son Gilbert Rucker; and her siblings, Leonard Rucker, Gertrude Blackwell and Clara Daye.

She is survived by: her children, John Rucker, Stanley Rucker (Janet), Vincent Rucker and Terrie Rucker; her goddaughter Valerie Bowen of Winston Salem; her brother Milton Rucker of Queens; her grandchildren, Darrell Rucker, Satoya Williams, Jarrod Redmond, JaQuail Rucker, Tayven Rucker, Nariyah Rucker and Camiyah Rucker; her great grandchildren, Marques Dalton, Makayla Dalton and Maliak Williams; her great great grandchild Kamar Dalton; her cousin Ora Daniels Merritt; and her niece Robin Blackwell Rucker. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
