She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Martin Wooten and Nettie Belle Johnson Wooten; her husband Joseph "Elbert" Mahaffey, Sr.; her daughter Judy Irene Mahaffey Redding; and her brothers, Bill, Donald, Max, Neil, Gerald and Sammy Wooten.
She is survived by: her son Joe Mahaffey, Jr. (Marilyn); her grandchildren, Joseph Mahaffey, III, Nicholas Mahaffey (Tammy) of James Connell, II. and Lavonne Helton (Chris); and her sisters, Peggy Fisher, Ruth Jackson, Sue Jones and Martha Harwell. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
