It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Liz Harris Rickert of Statesville, North Carolina, born in Oak Hill, Alabama, who passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Lee Harris and Bella Gould Harris; her daughter Zelinda Powell; and her son-in-law Walter Powell. She is survived by: her husband Amiel Rickert; her children, Donald McClelland and Majell Eller (Steven); her grandchildren, Zalima Rickert, Nikole Vestal, Tanisha Gilbert and Elizabeth Gilbert; and her great grandchildren, Cahmad Gillus, Jeremiah Dalton, Jaiden Gilbert, Yahseim Wyche, Taliyah Barber and Ka'ylee Williams. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 3:00 PM and at 3:30 PM at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel (135 E Front St, Statesville, NC 28677).
