She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Lydell and Margaret Barksdale Howell; and her brothers, John Howell and Pat Howell. She is survived by: her granddaughter Julia; her husband Stephen K. Bird; her children, Tom Nolen and Melinda Turner (Charlie Bobo); and her granddaughters, Grace Nolen, Elizabeth Nolen, Elizabeth Turner (Justin Dobbs) and Caroline Nolen.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nicholson Funeral Home (135 E Front St, Statesville, NC 28677). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery North Oakwood (114 N Oakwood Dr, Statesville, NC 28677).
