It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Sharpe of Statesville, North Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Franklin Sharpe and Lillie Summers Sharpe; his wife Margie Louise Phillips Sharpe; his daughter Wanda Roten; and his siblings, Robert Franklin Sharpe, Jim Sharpe, Joseph "Joe" Sharpe, Norma Shoemaker, Mary Jane Elizabeth Shoemaker and Mae Walker.
He is survived by: his son-in-law David Roten of Statesville; and his grandsons, Christopher Roten (Kellie) of Hamptonville and Eric Roten (Colette) of Statesville.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Union Chapel Baptist Church (1365 Old Mountain Rd, Statesville, NC 28677). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at the Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery (1365 Old Mountain Rd, Statesville, NC 28677).
