He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lee Garland and Annie Sustare Garland; and his sister LaMarr Forbis. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Thomas Garland; his sons, John Garland, Jr. (Sherry) and Greg Garland (Heather); his grandchildren, Ben, Cody, Caleb, Charlotte and Turner; and his great grandchildren, Charlie, Rhett and Bristol.
