It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jewel Madison Thompson of Statesville, North Carolina, who passed away on April 10, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherrill Martin Madison and Ruby Douglas Madison; her husband James T. R. Thompson; her siblings, Claude D. Madison Sr. (Lois), Ferne M. Sexton, Jean M. Bingham and Ferry Madison; and her siblings-in-law, Julia Nantz (Leonard), Flake Thompson and Doc Thompson.
She is survived by: her sons, Dennis Ray Thompson (Linda) of High Point and James Timothy Thompson (Mary) of Statesville; her grandson Matthew Thompson (Jenifer Kaczorowski); her great grandchildren, Emma and Carter of Mount Holly; her stepgrandson Johnny Taylor (Crystal); her stepgreat-granddaughter Ashley Taylor Peek (Justin); her granddaughter Charlotte Annabelle Peek of Archdale, N. C.; her stepgranddaughter Cindy Lynn Taylor (N. C.); her stepgreat-grandson Joseph Powell; and her sister-in-law Doris Thompson of Kentucky. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
