He was predeceased by: his parents, Russel Clarence Black Sr. and Lottie Bell Black. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Black; his children, Michael Black (Shirley) and Karen Bell (Clive); his brothers, R. C. Black (Irene) and Donald Black; his grandchildren, Beth Embry (Logan), Gilbert Bell (Carissa), Megan Lindley Bryson Black (John), Paxton Black and Cayden Black; and his great grandchildren, Karolynn Embry, Jameson Bell, Harper Bell and Masiy Rose Lindley.
