She was predeceased by: her parents, William Garner and Frances Clorina Garner; and her son Jarvis T. Garner. She is survived by: her husband Walter Charles Hogue; her daughters, Adrian D. Hogue of Taylorsville and Ebony C. Hogue of Statesville; her stepdaughter Latoya N. Abel of Salisbury; her adoptive daughter Karess Arnold of Mocksville; her grandchildren, Jarvis Jacobs, Zaiden Jacobs, Maddison Brooks, Tiana White, Khaleah Scott, Keiari Hogue, Justin Brown, Jr. and Alani Allen; and her close friends, Marilyn Rice, Vashti Brown-McClelland and Rachel Parks.
