He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Pope and Janie Stewart Pope; his son Jeff Pope; the mother of his children Aileen Pope; his siblings, Elgie Whitaker, Dorothy Grisanti and Brice Pope; and his daughter-in-law Tina Pope.
He is survived by: his sons, Gary Wayne Pope, Rickie Lynn Pope and Timothy Kevin Pope (Tracy); his grandchildren, Kasey Mecimore (Chris), Rachael Cope, Daniel Pope, Elijah Pope (Eli), Tatum Pope and Leighann Whitson (Cody); his great grandchildren, Kaylee Mecimore, Colton Mecimore, Raelynn Whitson, Ryder Whitson, John Cope, Ben Cope and Mattie Pope; and his siblings, Zula Bolick, Loretta Hedrick, Betty Hewitt, Shirley Sigmon, Eunice Sherrill and Fairley Pope (Carolyn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
