With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen McCubbins Lyerly (Statesville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 17, 2018 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parent Archie McCubbins; her husband R. J. Lyerly Jr; and her siblings, Herbert McCubbins, Mary Emma Fleming and Edith Cauble.

She is survived by: her parent Nora McLaughlin McCubbins; her son Robert E. Lyerly (Donna Harrison) of Rutherfordton; her sisters, Willie Kate "Tiny" Walkup of Statesville, Allene Cartner of Cleveland and Nell Thompson of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Robert E. Lyerly Jr. (Penny) of Statesville and Amelia Hrabar (Phillip); and her great grandchildren, Trei, Michael, Andrew Hrabar and Dillon Whitley. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
