With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Brenda Sue Benge of Statesville, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Hulin Collins and Vicie Carter Collins; her granddaughter Breanna Carter; and her brother Kenny Collins. She is survived by: her husband Johnny Benge; her children, Luther Carter (Rachael), Timothy Wheeler (Debbie), David Atwell (Connie), Susan Wheeler and Kenneth "Duke" Wheeler (Jessica Osborne); her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Luther Carter, Mckaela Gilbert, Kelsey, Skylar Wheeler, Blake Matney, Destiny Atwell, Annie Smith, Ciara Smith, Rebekah Brandt, Ashley Hoots, Brooklyn, KayLynn, Roselyne Osborne, Brenn Wheeler, Dakota Hatfield and Malcolm Hatfield; her great grandchildren, Lenneth Threatte, Riviera, Jeffery (Joey) and Wesley Brandt; and her siblings, David Collins (Charlene), Larry Collins, Mark Collins, Bobby Collins, Doretha C. Ochs (Mike) and Kathy Calhoun.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home (705 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC 28677). A celebration of life was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
