She was predeceased by: her parents, Giles T. McLelland and Mattie Daniels McLelland; her siblings, Floyd, Clay, Henry, David, Thad McLelland, Nell James, Texie Harmon and Rowena McLelland; and also, Sheila Ammons and Joan Lewis.
She is survived by: her son Giles; her sisters-in-law, Joann, Evelyn and Jeanne McLelland; and also Frank. She is also survived by her sister Texie's children.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home Chapel (705 Davie Ave, Statesville, NC 28677). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Blue Ridge Garden of Memory (994 Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768).
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Bonnie's memory to contribute to The Giles Harmon Memorial Scholarship Fund, 600 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805, to continue her support of young people entering the field of law enforcement.
