He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William G. Summers and Mary Wilson Summers; his wife Sandra Morrow Summers; his pets, Miss Kitty and Angel; his son Dr. William G. Summers, III (Carrie Beth); his grandchildren, Addie Summers and Ben Summers; and his siblings, Kay Redmond (Jimmy) and Mickey Summers (Patty).
