He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Howell and Blanche Moore Howell; and his siblings, Adean Matthews, Ruth Ballinger, Marion Howell and Kenneth Howell.
He is survived by: his wife Valeria W. Howell; his children, Chris Howell (Lu Hickey) of Smithfield and Lisa Howell-Burruss of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Harrison Howell, Reagan Howell, Allison Burruss, Will Burruss, Thomas Burruss, Logan Hickey, Christopher Hickey and Taylor Hickey; and his brother Jerry Howell (Kathy) of Wilson.
