It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Shelton of Stantonsburg, North Carolina, who passed away on March 6, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his daughter Karey Leigh Shelton; his parents, William Leslie Shelton, Jr. and Mary Temperance Taylor Shelton; and his brother Bill Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Margielene "Margie" Gardner Shelton; his children, Sonya Flora (Bob) of Clayton and Chris Shelton (Janet) of Chesapeake, VA; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Collins (Tyler), Matthew Flora (Laura) and William Flora (Erica). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
