He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Howard. He is survived by: his parent Gladys Jones Cope; his wife Doris Shook Cope; his son William Gregory Cope (Greg); his daughter-in-law Jaimie Haskin Cope of Apex, NC; his son Brian Scott Cope, MD; his grandchildren, William Robert Cope and Sarah Jean Cope of Apex; his sister-in-law Don Paul Shook of Martinsville; his niece Karen Leigh Shook of Roanoke; and his sisters, James V. Rhyne (Doris Cope Rhyne) of Stanley, Betty Joyce Reid (Ted G. Reid) of Stanley and Jewel L. Carrouthers (Wilson Carrouthers) of Winston-Salem, NC. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
