He was predeceased by: his siblings, Lois, Alice, Bernice, Grover, David, Cicero, Herman and Lloyd.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy; and his children, Martha, Jane (Gene), Terri (Jim) and Mark. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunset Road Baptist Church, 2317 Sunset Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216.
