It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vinson Benfield of Stanley, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on May 24, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benfield, Sr. and Grace Poteat Benfield; his wife Doris Davis Benfield; and his brothers, John Benfield, Jr. and Clyde Benfield.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Benfield (Julia), Karen Benfield Cauthen and David Benfield (Shellie); his grandchildren, Travis Benfield (Heather), Nathan Benfield (Regina), Katie Cauthen (Derek Andre), Cody Cauthen, Meghan Yarbro (Josh) and Josh Benfield; his great grandchildren, John Paul Benfield, Claire Benfield and Sarah Jane Benfield; his sister Libby Chaney (Dean); and his brother-in-law Bobby Davis (Rachel).
