She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Dupree Sigmon and Wanda Sartin Sigmon. She is survived by: her husband Michael Kirkland; her sons, Jason Michael Kirkland (Crystal) and Justin Daniel Kirkland (Rebecca); her siblings, Lisa Cook (Darwin), Mike Sigmon (Charlotte) and Keith Sigmon (Lisa); her grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Paisley, Elainna, Abigail, Benjerman, Samuel, Gaberyl and Alyssa; and her close friend Teresa Stines. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the youth program of West Fifth Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, 2145 W. 5th Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052.
