He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Bennett and Evelyn Martin Bennett; his wife Mary Jo Mull Bennett; and his granddaughter Mattie Lynn Hegler. He is survived by: his children, Angela Bennett Lee (Roger), Christina Bennett Hegler (Roger) and Gary Bennett; his sisters, Gay Shockley and Connie Ledford; his grandchildren, Sarah, Luke, Jo Anna Bennett, Emma Hegler, Brad Lee (Tonya) and Katie Bleau (Ryan); and his great grandchildren, Logan, Luke Travis and Wyatt Bleau. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
