It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael Kirkland (Stanley, North Carolina), born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude J. Kirkland and Helen Ball Kirkland; and his wife Teresa Sigmon Kirkland. He is survived by: his sons, Jason Michael Kirkland (Crystal) and Justin Daniel Kirkland (Becky); his siblings, Ed Kirkland, James Kirkland, Ronald Kirkland (Cathy) and Ginny Smith (Harold); and his grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Paisley, Elainna, Abigail, Benny, Samuel, Gabriel and Alyssa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the youth of South Point Free Will Baptist Church, 297 Gaither Road, Belmont, NC 28012 or to the youth of West Fifth Freewill Baptist Church, 2145 W. Fifth Avenue, Gastonia, NC 28052.
