He is survived by: his children, John "Buck" Broom, Tracy Whitehurst Burnette (Scott) of Mills River, NC, Michael Whitehurst (Christy), Lisa Baker Dunn (Michael) and Ryan Baker (Courtney) of Mount Holly, NC; his siblings, Melva B. Sexton (Richard) of Rock Hill, SC, Kathy B. Williams (Chris) of Rock Hill, SC and Ronald Eugene Broom (Cathy) of Rock Hill, SC; and his pet Sam. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
