He was predeceased by: his parents, Newell James and Edeath Burdell Crawford Cantrell; his wife Brenda Faye Cantrell; and his siblings, Rayburn Cantrell, Jenny Givens, Ann Porter and Ellen Jessup.

He is survived by: his children, Damien Cantrell, Julia Field (Michael), Shannon Cozart (Darrell) and Catherine Cantrell-Loomis (William); his siblings, John Cantrell, Kathleen Kaiser and Kathy Ward; and his grandchildren, Taylor Cozart, Michael, Robert, Mark Antony, Rebecca Stoop and Ina.
