It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Renee Abernathy of Stanley, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on December 12, 2023, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Barkley and Betty Ann Rhyne Abernathy. She is survived by: her son Jeremy Abernathy (Ashley); her granddaughter Madison Abernathy of Dallas, NC; her brothers, David Abernathy (Patricia) of Stanley, NC and Paul Abernathy (Linda) of Alexis, NC.; her niece Heather Rumfelt (Jeromy); and her nephews, Christopher Abernathy (Danielle), Phillip Abernathy (Melissa) and Ryan Abernathy (Elizabeth).
