He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Deal and Virginia Campbell Deal; his wife Jolene "Jodi" Burgess Deal; and his siblings, Charles Mason Deal and Mary Margaret Helms.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael "Chip" Burgess Deal and Kevin Paul Deal; his brother Joel Ashley Deal of Kannapolis; and his grandson Levon Atticus Deal.
