We are sad to announce that on December 6, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Hubert Abernathy of Stanley, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Grier J. Abernathy and Lucy Bynum Abernathy; his son Tracy Wayne; and his siblings, Adolphus, Francis, David, Donald, Joe, Grier, Jr. and Beaulah Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Robinson Abernathy; his sons, Steven Hubert Abernathy (Donna) of Charlotte and Ronald Franklin Abernathy of Stanley; his grandchildren, Chase Abernathy (Cassie) of Gastonia, Chelsea Turpin (Justin) of Lincolnton and Sara Abernathy of Stanley; and his great grandchildren, Cole, Kalli Abernathy, Porter Turpin and Micah Moody.

Due to Covid, face masks and social distancing will apply, and during the visitation the family will greet with no contact.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stanley Cemetery Ancestry Fund at 203 S. Main Street, Stanley, NC 28164.
