She was predeceased by: her parents, George Abernathy and Connie W. Abernathy; her husband Donald W. Abernathy (Doodle); and her siblings, Bobby, Carl, Herbert, Gerald Abernathy, Audrey Abernathy, Luna Bell Howard, Beatrice Hager and Nadine Hilderbran.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Abernathy (Nancy) and Rebecca (Jethro Lucas Jr.) of Stanley, NC; her grandchildren, Leigh Faulkenberry, Jennifer Drury (Chad) and Tracy Teague (Tony); her great grandchildren, Holly Faulkenberry, Emily Faulkenberry Locklear (Jimmy), Zachary, Grant Drury, Aaron Price (Ashleigh) and Andrew Price (Jennifer); her great great grandchild Avidan Price; and her sister Nellie Goodson of Anchorage, Alaska.. She is also survived by three children.
A private graveside service will be held Sunday afternoon October 4, 2020 at the cemetery of Lebanon United Methodist Church, 5033 Lebanon Road, Maiden, NC for immediate family due to the Covid-19.
