It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edwin James Crisp Sr. of Stanley, North Carolina, born in Bryson City, North Carolina, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Crisp and Essie Crisp; his siblings, Marie Martin, Vernon Crisp and Reva Braswell; his son-in-law Bob Smith; and his former wife Peggy Penley Crisp.
He is survived by: his wife Maxcine Rickman Crisp; his children, Melissa Smith, Jim Crisp (Susan) and Phillip Crisp (Eva); and his stepchildren, Janet Somey (Kelly) and Jeff Rickman (Kathryn). He is also survived by his four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Gaston Memorial Park (1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054).
