With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Edgar Hatley of Stanley, North Carolina, who passed away on September 18, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Prince Pearl Hatley and Ruby Thomas Hatley. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Hatley; his stepson Tommy Oliver of Charlotte, NC; his sister Patricia Hatley Coggins of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his parents-in-law, John Sheridan, Helen, Roger Miller, Carmel West, Mary, Wayne Hontz, Leigh Englehart, Una and Mike Martone. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and so many dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

We had great times back then and, while we haven't seen each other in a while (I moved to the Crystal Coast of NC), he was always part of the gang!
