She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bain and Lenna Wall Wilkinson Sr. Carol; and her brother Charles Bain Wilkinson Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Virginia Wilkinson, Billie Wilkinson Carpenter, Jean Wilkinson Harmon and Ted McClain Wilkinson; her husband Joe Ladd of Stanley; her son John Ladd; her daughter-in-law Leslie Freize Ladd of Gastonia; her brother Sam Wilkinson; her sister-in-law Louise T. Wilkinson of Sanford; her granddaughters, Whitney Freize of Lowell and Emily Ladd Arizaga (Jaime Arizaga Jr.) of Charlottesville, VA; and her nieces and nephews, Nancy Wilkinson, Lynn Carpenter Shelton, Bain Wilkinson Carpenter, Julie Harmon, Debbie Wilkinson and Toni Wilkinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Alexis Baptist Church.
