With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Basil Ernest Ballard of Stanley, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Ballard and Lola Brown Ballard; his wife Myrna Oates Ballard; his sister Betty Bollinger; and his nephew Douglas Roberts.
He is survived by: his daughter Melanie Ballard Wykle; his grandchildren, Benjamin Ernest Grant (Taylor) and Kaitlyn Grant; his great grandchild Griffin Ernest Grant; his sister Judy Roberts; and his nieces, Gail Morris (Gary), Annette Crawford (Ernie), Cheryl Gibby (Stephen) and Sandra Clemmer (Larry). He is also survived by his family, friends.
