She was predeceased by: her husband Jack Richard Polk; her daughter Sherry Polk Buchanan; and her siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Johnson, Lorena Cornelia "Connie" Lathan, Frances Rowell, Joseph "Joe" Gibson and Albert Clinton "Clint" Gibson.

She is survived by: her son Richard "Rick" Polk; her children-in-law, Karen Polk and David Buchanan; her granddaughters, Jessica Polk Williams (Aaron Williams), Emily Buchanan and Rebekah Buchanan; her great grandchildren, Tucker Williams, Tripp Williams and Sutton Williams; and her siblings, Eudocia "Docia" Bridwell and Elmer Reece Gibson. She is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
