He was predeceased by: his parents, Philas Hartsell and Gatha Hartsell; and his sister Judy Christy. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hartsell of Stanfield; his children, Casey Captain of Kannapolis, Andy Whittle (Meloney) of Stanfield and Chris Whittle (Katina Parham) of Norcross, GA; his grandchildren, DJ (Sherry), Tyler (Devyn), Hanna, Gavin, Noah and Jonah; his great grandchild Marshall; and his siblings, Ronald Hartsell of Stanfield, Doug Hartsell (Denise) of Stanfield and Annette Lowder (Pete) of Stanfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
