It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charlene Worthington of Stanfield, North Carolina, born in East Prairie, Missouri, who passed away on December 21, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Piercing Clark and Elsie Mae Clark; her daughter Vonda Dotson; her grandson Ricky Joe Amick; and her siblings, Dixie Counts, Doris Ryan, Terry Clark and Gordon Clark.
She is survived by: her husband John Worthington, Jr. of Stanfield; her children, Connie Little (Tony) of Stanfield, Rebecca Furr (Ricky) of Concord and John Worthington (Gail) of North Port, FL; her grandchildren, Tabatha Floyd (Lee) of Albemarle, JT Bailey (Sharonda) of Charlotte and Zoe Furr of Salisbury; her great grandchildren, Tyler Dennis, Brandon Dennis (Kirsten), Cody Dennis (Sarah), Courtney Dennis, Mya Bailey and Ella Bailey; and her great great grandchild Grayson Dennis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed making baby blankets, and often donated them to the Pregnancy Resource Center, hospital, or families in need. She collected jackets, clothing, and toys to help families at Christmas, and each year she spent months gathering supplies to create shoe boxes to donate to Samaritans Purse.
