He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charlie Spurgeon Drye and Esther Springer Drye; his wife Jean Almond Drye; his children, Devin Drye (Cheryl) of Greensboro, NC, Todd Drye of Stanfield and Gina Efird of Stanfield; his siblings, Leonard Drye, Benny Drye, Lillie Tucker, Peggy Huneycutt and Dianne Furr; his grandchildren, Eric Drye (Shannon), Chad Drye, Courtney Araujo (Angel) and Haley Efird; and his great grandchildren, Madeline, Rachel and Susanna Drye.
