It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Thompson of Staley, North Carolina, who passed away on June 6, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Ray Thompson to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Clyde and Beatrice Edwards Thompson; and his brothers, Rudy Baxter Thompson and Roger Murphy Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Thompson; his children, Carol Lynn Burgess (Randy) of Ramseur and Steven Ray Thompson (Julie) of La Crestent; and his sister Patricia Gunn (James). He is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren.
