He was predeceased by: his son Jeff Hinson; his parents, James Hinson and Lela Poe Hinson; and his sister Deloris York. He is survived by: his wife Paula Smith Hinson; his stepdaughter Jennifer Ambrose (Jeff) of Staley; his sister Penny Kirkman of Asheboro; his grandsons, Jeffrey Austin Ambrose of Staley and Jacob Paul Ambrose of Staley; his great grandchild Dawson Banks Ambrose; and his son Justin Hankins of Staley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
