He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock Nixon Swaney and Kathleen Cox Swaney. He is survived by: his grandson Elijah; his wife June Swaney; his children, Sarah Kiser (Nathan), Elijah of Asheboro and John Pickett of Snow Camp; and his siblings, Carolyn Tysinger (Charles) of Asheboro, Darrell Swaney of Randleman and Todd Swaney (Charlene) of Asheboro.
