She was predeceased by: her parent Erastus Hicks; and her siblings, Kate Hicks Oaks, Josephine Hicks McMasters, Juanita Hicks Crutchfield, Edsel Hicks and Wesley "Mutt" Hicks.

She is survived by: her parent Ada Brady Hicks; and her brother Carlton "Bill" Hicks. She is also survived by six nieces and eleven nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 7103 Sandy Creek Church Road, Staley, NC 27355.
