He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Fulcher Salter; his parents, Elmer Salter and Ethel Fulcher Salter; his son Gary Salter; his siblings, Myra Salter, Irma Salter, Evelyn Sewell, Hedrick Salter and Chris Salter; his grandson Alexis Day; and his great grandchild Taji Bruce.
He is survived by: his children, Terry S. Bruce (Walter R. Bruce, III) of Dublin, CA, Barbara Day of Sea Level, NC, Chester Salter of Otway, NC and Anthony Salter (Laura) of Sea Level, NC; his sister Judy Lewis of Stacy, NC; his sister-in-law Rachel Salter of Stacy, NC; his daughter-in-law Clarice Arthur of Stacy, NC; his grandchildren, Stephen Salter (Melissa) of Royse City, TX, Gerald Salter (Monique Baxter), Scott Salter (Christina) of Denver, NC, Adam Salter (Ashley) of Ayden, NC, Eberson Day of Newport, NC, Alexsander Day of Newport, NC, Barry Day of Newport, NC, Allison Warren of Beaufort, NC, Rich Bruce (Malia) of California, Robert Bruce (Katie) of California, Heather Bruce of California, Heidi Bruce of California, Monty Bruce of California and Mikayla Bruce of California; and his great grandchildren, Kayla Salter, Major Salter, Ryker Salter, Carolina Salter, Parker Salter, Richey Bruce, Eberson Day, Daniel Day, Dayton Day and Eli Day. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home.
