She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Stockton and Bessie McKinney Stockton; her husband Jay Garland; and her sisters, Kathleen Silvers and Mary Higgins.
She is survived by: her children, Lonnie Garland (Connie) of Jonesborough, TN, John Garland (Sherry) of Burnsville and Connie Garland of Mars Hill; her brother Jay Stockton (Jacqueline) of Bakersville; and her grandchildren, April Solesby (John), Chad Riddle (Kanitha), Preston Riddle (Mary), Ashley Morrow, Derrick Garland (Kelsey), Alecia Gaddy (Josh) and Caleb Garland (Hailee). She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
