She was predeceased by: her parents, McKinley Edwards and Laura Jones Edwards; her husband Oscar Whitson; and her grandson Joshua Lee Whitson. She is survived by: her children, Wanda Renfro (Charles) of Green Mountain, Patsy Johnson of Jacks Creek, Ralph Whitson (Polly) of Green Mountain, Ronnie Whitson (Fredia) of Green Mountain and Royce Whitson (Debbie) of Marion; and her siblings, Sidney Ayers of Green Mountain and Kenneth Edwards of Morganton. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 9 great, great grandchildren.
