It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vance Hughes (Spruce Pine, North Carolina), who passed away on July 15, 2018, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Vance Hughes to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parent Zeb Hughes; his son Larry Hughes; and his siblings, Herman, Arie, Vincent, Quince, Edd, Jessie McGee, Nola Hughes and Edith Hinkle.
He is survived by: his parent Minnie Hughes; his spouses, Bernice and Kathleen McGee Hughes; his sons, Roger Hughes (Dawn) of Sierra Vista, AZ and Jerry Hughes (Sandi) of Sumter, SC; his daughter-in-law Kim Kluth Hughes (late Larry); his stepchildren, Jerry McGee (Debbie) of Spruce Pine, Donnie McGee (Lesa) of Spruce Pine, Ted McGee (Dinah) of Rutherfordton and Patty Burgin (Buster) of Marion; his grandchildren, Roger, Jr., Richard, Kim Joiner, Amber, Byron, Aaron, Vance, Aubrey Bauer, Johnathan, Sarah, Daniel, Jr. and Gabriella; and his stepgrandchildren, Josh Hoge, Bret Hoge, Cindy Haynes, Matt McGee, Paul McGee, Steven McGee, Chucky McGee, Tina Schwaldbach, Brooke Peterson, Scott McGee, Josh McGee and Amy Ingram.
Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Sgt. E.L. Randolph Chapter #57 D.A.V.
