She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Buchanan and Belle Greene Buchanan; her husband Jack Smith; and her sisters, Swannie Buchanan, Josie Greene and Lucille Ward.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Gene Smith (Nancy) of Spruce Pine and Dean Smith (Shirley); her great grandchildren, Aaron Smith (Allisyn), Tanya Smith (Bryon Burleson), Kent Smith (Shasta), Julie Ackiss (Jason) and Ben Smith (Carrie); and her nieces and nephews, Saylor, Jaxson, Ava, Maycee, Noah, Jase, Jack and Charlie.
